The FIVE Palm Jumeirah Dubai is owned by real estate magnet Kabir Mulchandani and is in many ways a tangible expression of his passion for quality. For more than 15 years Kabir has been building and expanding his real estate empire first through savvy purchases and sales, then by entering the development market in Dubai and finally by spearheading the creation of both the iconic FIVE Palm Jumeirah Hotel as well as the 59 storey FIVE Jumeirah Village luxury hotel.
Not content to reshape the luxury landscape in the billionaire playground of Dubai, Kabir has also created what many are declaring one of the best hotels in Switzerland, FIVE Zurich, and has recently branched out into the entertainment industry with the launch of the groundbreaking FIVE Music.
Background
Born in Mumbai, India to an entrepreneurial family Kabir attended the acclaimed Exeter Academy (alma mater of US President Franklin Pierce, West Virginia Governor Jay Rockefeller, (son of oil tycoon John D. Rockefeller) and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg among others. After graduating from Exeter Kabir attended Stanford University alma mater of Elon Musk (SpaceX founder and the world’s richest man), US President John F. Kennedy, Tiger Woods (perhaps the greatest golfer of all-time), and Sundar Pichai, (CEO of Alphabet/Google).
After returning to India Kabir was challenged by his mother to take her already successful consumer electronics business to the next level. After just a few short years he’d done such an incredible job The Economist magazine was hailing him as “Mumbai’s Marketer”. And it was shortly afterwards that Kabir turned his sights to real estate.
Into the Future
Kabir is one of the most successful Indian entrepreneurs in the world, but he never lets his astonishing success go to his head. He has always believed in the transformative power of charity and has focused much of his attention on causes that promote social justice, education and economic opportunity for the downtrodden.
In 2018 Kabir was recognized as “Philanthropist of the Year” by his peers at the CEO Middle East Awards and he continues to partner with philanthropic organizations such as the Diya Foundation, the New Face Charitable Trust and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital to provide life-saving surgery for those who could otherwise not afford it.
